Visual identity and custom font design for the city of Łódź, created as part of the Creative Typography course at Design Practice.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Developed during the Creative Typography course at Design Practice, this work includes a custom logotype and typeface created in FontLab. It presents a conceptual visual identity for Łódź.
The project draws inspiration from the industrial architecture of Łódź, vintage typographic signboards, and the spindle motif—a key symbol of the city's textile history.
The project features Szpula Display, a custom font I designed from scratch in FontLab. Given its distinctive character, I used it exclusively for large headers, while Poppins was selected for the body text.
The color palette derives mainly from industrial brick architecture.
